ASA Women's C National General Information!!

Girls/Guys, we have nailed down the times and events for the ASA Women's C National in Dothan, Alabama.  Below you will find times and locations for this event.

1. 10AM- 9/3/10 at the Dothan Comfort Suites (1650 Westgate Parkway 36303)--Umpire meeting!  This is mandatory for all umpires to attend.

2. 3PM- 9/3/10 at the Dothan Comfort Suites (1650 Westgate Parkway 36303)--Managers meeting!  A representative from each team will be required to attend this meeting.  We will discuss tournament rules, park rules and take any questions you may have.

3. 5PM- 9/3/10 at Westgate Softball Complex (201 Recreation Road) will be Umpire pictures.  Umpires are required to attend in full uniform.

4. 6PM- 9/3/10 at Westgate Softball Complex (201 Recreation Road) will be Opening Ceremonies for the tournament.  We would love for each team to participate!!  Our "Friends Choir" will be performing and if you have never heard them, it is truly a blessing!

5. 7PM-9/3/10 at Westgate Softball Complex (201 Recreation Road), pool play will begin. 

6. 9AM-9/4/10 at Westgate Softball Complex (201 Recreation Road), double elimination play begins.  We will schedule games at 90 minutes intervals.  (Example-game time at 9am--next game will schedule to start at 10:30).

7. Other information--Awards will be given to the top 3 teams.  We will also name an All-American team (15 players).  There will also be a Batting Champion, MVP and Home Run awards.  (Uniforms) All players must compete in accordance with Rule 3, Section 6.  There will be no infield practice.  Home/visitor will be determined by a coin flip with the field scorekeeper.  Each team will be given 15 player passes.  Gate fee will be $5.00.  Website--www.dothansoftball.com or face book at--Westgate Softball Complex--Dothan Alabama.  T-shirts/sweatshirts will be sold by team order only.  We will have "sample" shirts that you can look at and then fill out a team order form.  We will have those shirts/sweatshirts printed up and mailed to a team representative.  The t-shirts will be Badger brand, in Carolina blue, black, graphite and grey.  Sweatshirts will be hoodies and grey.

From the Board meeting--1. The Board has agreed to try various demo bats, to see which one they would like to buy for league play.  2. Fall league softballs will be any ASA .44 core .375 compression softball.  3.  We will go to a 1 & 1 count.  4.  In the near future we will offer a 35 & older league.  5. Player conduct-agreed to stay with the current policy but, to document player conduct problems and bring those folks before to the Board.  The Board agreed to get with the umpires and make sure they are ALL on the same page when it comes to player conduct.  6.  Failure to turn in a roster on the first night of league will result in a forfeit.  7.  We will NOT be buying softballs with the Complex logo!  The Board voted to go with the Dudley .44 core .375 compression softball for league starting in the upcoming SUMMER league.
